GENÇBEYSAD Committee organized a trip to Arçelik 4.0 and Garage

Young Beysad team led by BEYSAD Board Member Deniz Yasemin Aksu continues its activities without slowing down. After the event held in Bosch Center, a workshop was carried out with the Design Thinking Method at Atölye 4.0 in Arçelik Çayırova Campus on February 8, 2019, Friday.

The participants experienced Design Thinking method that redefines problems and offers a solution-oriented approach and focused on the production and main industry-suppliers’ industry processes.

The purpose of the workshop was, besides contributing in making the Design Thinking method applicable to their own business processes by the participants, which is used to create a solution through a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, to develop cooperation and projects toward solving the present problems.

  • A workshop was carried out using the ‘Design Thinking’ methodology to define problems in the production and suppliers’ industry supply chain processes and to offer value-adding solutions in the event where Arcelik’s ‘Digital Transformation in Production Vision’, the ongoing projects and value-adding exemplary works were shared.
     
  • In this workshop 20 participants were divided into four groups and the focus was putting forth problems faced in the defined processes. The prominent topic was the issue of ensuring the accuracy and continuity of the information flow between the main industry and the suppliers’ industry.
     
  • The problems defined at the workshop were analyzed in detail later and projects that can be carried out together were identified.

2 people from 10 companies participated and contributed in this event, which included, besides Young Beysad members, professionals from the production, quality and planning units of companies.

The program set off with the presentation on the Digital Transformation Journey in Arçelik (Agile&I.4.0 Toolkit) and value-adding application examples including data collection, estimator quality, process modeling and optimization, anomaly detection and failure prediction; and payment systems robotic test automation.

Next, the participants were divided into 4 groups to apply the Design Thinking method and worked to identify the Sore Points of businesses and to suggest respective solutions in various sessions.

Yasemin Aksu stated the following in her assessment of the event: “We, the Young Beysad Committee, set this year’s focus to be speeding up the adaptation of the young generations of the founder families of our member companies to the sector and enhancing their command over new technological advancements; in line with this, we carried out the first event of 2019 in Arçelik.

The event was hosted by the “Atölye 4.0” team - founded with the mission to solve the problems that occur in the production lines of various factories of Arçelik around the world and to spread such solutions and led by Ömer Faruk Özer. We were ready as a team of 20 people comprised of the Young BEYSAD members and professional executives from their companies. Using the recently-hyped Design Thinking method, we worked on “Our Sore Points at Production”.

Through this workshop, the participants gained a valuable problem solving and prioritization systematic that can be easily applied to their business – not to mention the opportunity to pour
