We continue trying to know our members better and we are extremely happy to appreciate their success through these interviews. In this volume, we are talking with Dizayn Optimum Mühendislik’s owner Mr. Abdürrahim Arslan. We would like to thank him for his contributions in our journal and wish the continuity of his success.

Can you please introduce yourself?
I was born in Alaca/Çorum in 1967. My primary and secondary education was in Alaca, university education was Mechanical Engineering in Istanbul Technical University, graduated in 1988. After working in different firms, I established our firm in 1996. I am married and I have 2 children.

Can you please inform about the firm and business of Dizayn Optimum Mühendislik?
Dizayn Optimum Mühendislik was established in a small workshop in 1996; in 2004, has moved to 2000m² own factory. In 2012 the firm was moved to new factory which holds 5000m². Our firm experienced in manufacturing Thermoforming and Foaming Moulds to the refrigerator sector and the only firm that is working for all domestic refrigerator factories. Furthermore, we have justified pride of able to export moulds to German firms as Liebherr, the firm has proven its quality.

To which sectors do you provide services?
We mainly manufacture moulds to refrigerator factories; beside of these, we produce special machines, styrofoam moulds and foam rubber moulds to automotive industry.

Do you have any new investment?
Since the day our establishment, we invested what we gained. However our biggest investment is on human resources. We are as a family with our employees with critical duties in a long time. We will improve our factory land from 5.000m² to 10.000m²; addition to this we are planning to invest on machines as 5 axis CNC milling machine and plate press machines.

Can you tell about your export rates and to which country you export most?
Our export rates are variable. The moulds which we produce today, were imported 10 years ago. We stopped this and export moulds to Austria, Russia, South Africa, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Iran.

What are your qualifications which differentiate you from your competitors?
Our philosophy is always focus on our work we do and expertise on them. Generally we have competition with ourselves in Turkey. Working for many fims gave us different points of view and much experience. After experting in moulds we made, we expands our product range with cabinet and door foaming fixtures they used, styrofoam moulds and foam rubber moulds that same working logic with our moulds. We aimed to using proper material with best workmanship for our products, even we make a loss, and we succeed. We are moving on our way with ease that there is no product problem in our history. We are looking forward to enter plate press business with trust of our works done for our references.

What are your expectations about BEYSAD? What can we do for you?
We are member as moulder. We are waiting for special business trip organisations from BEYSAD to white appliance producers’ responsibles in Europe with just mould maker firms in upcoimng period. Firms want to purchase the sub-industry products from the country which they take moulds.
