IFA, the top consumer electronics fair in Europe and one of the major ones in the world was held in Berlin, Germany from September 2-7, 2016. Arçelik and Vestel took part in the fair with their new products, while 15 white goods suppliers that are BEYSAD members and that did a national participation with the Turkish Electrical Electronics and Services Exporters Association participated in the fair for the second time this year.
 
The fair exhibited all the innovations and the latest trends in consumer electronics. The fair that is organized every year attracted 1.439 participants last year in an exhibition area of 142 thousand square meters and more than 10 thousand new products made their debut. This year the fair was attended by 240 thousand individuals from 100 countries and a record-breaking 4.6 billion dollars worth of business connections were established via trade agreements signed for the first time. At IFA 2016, wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers had the opportunity to present the innovations in their products under the same roof. This year IFA Fitness & Activity section exhibited the cutting edge fitness-related wearable devices and software, while TecWatch section brought researchers, experts, start-up executives and sellers together. This year, too, Smart Homes were an important attraction at the fair. 50 global companies displayed their smart home solutions.
  
Mr. Atilla Eren, Board Member of TET – the host of the national participation organization, talked about the fair: “We are participating in IFA Fair, the world’s most important consumer electronics fair, as a national participation with 15 BEYSAD members for the second time this year.

The national participation in the prestigious fair IFA where the latest technological innovations are exhibited was very beneficial for the industry. During the entire fair, our companies that produce intermediate goods for the Consumer Electronics and White Goods sectors had the chance to come together and develop business together with the global brands that make finished goods.

The reception that was given in honour of ‘Turkey’s National Participation’ at the Turkish Pavilion in the evening of Monday, September 5, 2016 received a good many distinguished guests. The reception was honoured by Mr. Ziya Altunyıldız, Chairperson of the Commission of Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology and MP of Konya; Mr. Ufuk Gezer, Charge D'affaires of Berlin; Mr. Başar Şen, Consul General of Berlin as well as many main industry executives. The reception was hosted by Mr. Fatih Ebiçlioğlu, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of TET and Group Manager of Durable Consumables of Koç Holding A.Ş., and he gave a short opening speech introducing the guests of honour and thanking participants and guests.

IFA Fair, one of the major events in the white goods and consumer electronics sectors in the world, this year received 45 Turkish companies including the 15 white goods suppliers that are BEYSAD members.
