2) Digital transformation in end-to-end supply chain management with SmartOpt solutions
3) Supply chain digital twin

We would like to thank our event speaker:
Prof. Dr. Metin Türkay, Founder of SmartOpt & Head of Industrial Engineering Department at Koç University

The establishment journey of SmartOpt:
Prof. Dr. Metin Türkay: “Our first operations on end-to-end supply chain optimization started at Mitsubishi Corporation, where I worked as the Optimization Technologies Chief Advisor after I completed my PhD at Carnegie Mellon University. I created the supply chain digital twin and optimization model of Japan's Mizushima Industrial Complex. These operations were precursors in the field of supply chain optimization and these operations took their place among the first patents obtained in the field in the entire world (Japan Patent 2001-255925 and 2001-256421). Our academic studies and applications on end-to-end supply chain optimization continued at Koç University. Our applications mostly took place in important companies of Koç Holding in the real sector. We received the Most Successful in Koç Award in 2019 with the work we did at the Arçelik Ankara factory. We completed the establishment of SmartOpt in October 2020, as the academic studies we have carried out have achieved significant results in real life many times. While maintaining our academic depth and research culture, we develop innovative solutions in the field of end-to-end supply chain optimization and focus on enabling managers to effectively manage within the complex structure of the supply chain.”

We would like to thank first of all SmartOpt officials and Industry 4.0 Committee and all of our members who showed great interest in this event, which included important information, and we hope to see you at our other events.
