IFA Berlin, Europe’s most comprehensive technology showcase, has been held annually since 1924, presenting the latest technological products and innovations to visitors. From smartphones to televisions, computers to home appliances, and wearable technologies, the fair remains one of the most significant events in our industry.

Celebrating its 101st anniversary this year, IFA 2025 took place between September 5–10. BEYSAD participated with a delegation of nearly 50 representatives from 13 member companies—some attending as visitors between September 6–8, and others exhibiting at booths as part of a special travel program from September 6–10. The fair offered us the opportunity to explore the innovative products of our proudly Turkish manufacturers and to observe global brands and emerging sectoral trends. In addition to following the latest developments, our delegation engaged in meaningful interactions to establish new business connections.

As BEYSAD, we not only organized the visit but also arranged special meetings with leading brands such as BSH/Bosch/Siemens, Midea, Vestel, and Haier. Vestel hosted the largest Turkish booth at the fair, showcasing not only its own brand but also products from licensed manufacturing partnerships with Toshiba, Sharp, Daewoo, and Cylinda. In total, approximately 50 Turkish companies were represented at this year’s IFA.

The “IFA Next” zone, dedicated to start-ups, continues to serve as a powerful launchpad for emerging companies aiming to stand alongside industry giants.

Commenting on the visit, BEYSAD Chairperson D. Yasemin Aksu shared her thoughts:

“IFA Berlin is undoubtedly one of the most important fairs in its field, offering a unique platform to discover trends shaping the future of our industry and to forge new business connections. As BEYSAD, we were proud and excited to be present with nearly 50 representatives, both as exhibitors and visitors.”

Looking at the fair as a whole, it was evident that energy efficiency and AI-driven functionalities—already prominent in previous years—have become even more widespread. While the popularity of 120-inch televisions was a hot topic, manufacturers continued to push the boundaries of new energy classifications. The heat pump transformation seen in dryers now appears to be on the horizon for dishwashers as well.

From a competitive standpoint, Chinese brands were observed to expand their booth areas and diversify their product ranges each year. In contrast, many European brands opted for more compact and minimalist booth designs. Established companies gave greater prominence to outdoor products (such as grills), while others showcased concept-level humanoid robots—both notable trends.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our representatives who joined us on this valuable visit, and we hope they achieved fruitful business connections. We also thank our partner TET’s board and professionals for their support and hospitality throughout the fair organization.”

TET Board Member Ş. Burak Özaydemir also shared his remarks:

“Our national participation in the Berlin IFA Fair, supported by BEYSAD, is of great importance in demonstrating the global strength of our industry. With its robust production infrastructure and innovative solutions, Türkiye ranks as the second-largest hub for white goods manufacturing worldwide, following China. Our component manufacturers had the opportunity to showcase Türkiye’s deep supply capabilities and flexible production strengths to European producers. We view this participation as a strategic step toward expanding international collaborations and accessing new markets. We thank all participating companies and BEYSAD for their support.”

Once again, as BEYSAD, we extend our gratitude to all our stakeholders for their warm hospitality, and to each of our member companies who joined the delegation:

Anot Makina, Başoğlu Kablo, Bekel, Borçelik, Gençler Kablo, İspak, Kabel, Konveyör, Korel, Nova Elektrik, Punteks, San Metal, Seçil Kauçuk.

A 101-Year Journey in Berlin:

IFA Continues to Capture the Pulse of Technology

In the heart of Berlin, the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) began in 1924 as a modest technology exhibition. This year, it celebrates its 101st anniversary—a journey that tells not only the story of devices, but also of humanity’s evolving relationship with technology.

It All Started with a Radio…

The story began in Germany during the early days of radio broadcasting. Among the first products showcased at IFA were vacuum tube radios, gramophones, and dreams of wireless communication. At the time, technology was a miracle that carried voices into homes.

Wars, Revolutions, and Screens

The 1930s and ’40s were overshadowed by world wars, yet IFA continued with hope and resilience. In the 1950s, televisions took center stage. People could now bring not just sound, but images into their living rooms. As IFA drew more visitors each year, technology became more than a tool—it became a lifestyle.

On the Brink of Digitalization

The 1980s and ’90s witnessed the rise of computers and mobile phones. IFA kept pace with this transformation, becoming a showcase for the digital age. Visitors no longer just observed products—they experienced them, reaching out to touch the future.

Today: A Stage for Smart Living

In 2025, IFA once again opened its doors in Berlin to mark its 101st year. AI-powered devices, sustainable technologies, wearable health solutions, and holographic displays filled the halls. The fair is no longer just an exhibition—it’s a meeting point for ideas, visions, and human-centered innovation.

After 101 Years

IFA’s story has been written not only with technology, but with people. Every visitor, every manufacturer, every speaker has added a line to this narrative. What began in Berlin has grown into a global stage. And the best part: the story is still being written.
